BallerCheck ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our youth basketball verification platform at ballercheck.com and ballercheck-app.vercel.app (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: Name, email address, phone number, city, state, and role (player, parent, coach, organizer, etc.).
• Player information: Player name, date of birth, photo, birth certificate (for age verification), team affiliation.
• Authentication: We send one-time passcodes (OTPs) via SMS or email to verify your identity. We do not store passwords.
• Usage data: Log data, device information, IP address, browser type, and interactions with the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To verify player identities and ages
• To send authentication codes via SMS or email (message and data rates may apply)
• To facilitate team rosters, tournaments, and scorekeeping
• To communicate important account or platform updates
• To improve and secure the Service

3. SMS & Text Messaging

By providing your phone number, you consent to receive text messages from BallerCheck for authentication purposes (one-time passcodes). Message frequency varies based on account activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. We will not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:

• With team coaches and tournament organizers when you join their teams or events (name, age, team affiliation only)
• On public verify pages (name, age, verification status only — no sensitive data)
• With service providers (Supabase for database hosting, Twilio for SMS, Vercel for hosting)
• When required by law

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures including Row-Level Security (RLS), encrypted storage, and service-role authentication to protect your data. Birth certificates and photos are stored in private, access-controlled buckets.

6. Children's Privacy

BallerCheck is designed to verify youth athletes. Parents or legal guardians must consent to a minor's participation. We collect only the minimum information needed for age and identity verification. Parents may request deletion of a minor's data at any time.

7. Your Rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by emailing privacy@aioglobal.com.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
